2014 Is The Year Of The Horse In Chinese Zodiac

This year, Chinese New Year festivities will celebrate the "Year of the Horse."  The "Year of the Horse" begins on January 31, 2014 and will end on February 18, 2015.  The horse is one of the twelve animal signs in the Chinese zodiac, and is generally viewed as a time of great positive energy and luck.

Similar to our western zodiac, Chinese astrology associates certain character strengths and weaknesses with each of the animal signs recognized in the Chinese zodiac.  For example, among the strengths that are attributed to those born in a "Horse Year" are:



  • Communicative
  • Social
  • Kind
  • Cheerful
Weaknesses that are attributed to those born in a "Horse Year" include:
